Kitchen Remodel
Elmwood Dr.

Before Corvallis Custom Kitchens and Baths came into the picture, these clients had been making do in a too-small kitchen for far too long. The tiny u-shaped kitchen felt cramped to work in and isolated from the rest of the house — a classic compartmentalized space typical of a 1970s ranch-style home. It was time for an upgrade, so our designers got to work!

Since our clients wanted to open things up, we removed the wall between the kitchen and living room, ripped out the kitchen peninsula, and planted an island in its place. The island provides extra seating as well counter space and storage — there’s even a built-in cubby for the microwave.

Our clients were drawn to the modern farmhouse aesthetic, which meshes perfectly with their ranch-style home and goal of making the kitchen feel more open. The white cabinetry and minimal tile backsplash bounce natural light to help brighten up the space — making it feel larger — while the gray island cabinets, hand-scraped wood flooring, and black details keep things grounded. We installed the farmhouse sink and Pottery Barn pendant lights to add a bit of character, which is aided by the exposed beam and painted tongue-and-groove boards on the ceiling. A few finishing touches — Pental Quartz Onixaa countertops, a Delta Essa faucet, Glomar Siwa wall sconce, basil plant — and this kitchen transformation was complete. What was once a closed-off cramped kitchen is now open, airy, and inviting. Our work here is done!
